It didn't take New Castle (Pa.) defensive back Marcus Hooker very long to ponder his offer from Ohio State. The 6-foot, 195-pound class of 2018 defensive back was offered on Wednesday evening by the Buckeyes and pulled the trigger on Thursday afternoon, becoming commitment No. 16 for Ohio State in the 2018 class.

The three-star prospect and younger brother of former Ohio State star, and 2017 first round NFL draft pick, Malik Hooker will now have a chance to follow in his brother's foot steps.

Ohio State offered Hooker on Wednesday night after evaluating all of the safety options that camped in Columbus in June and July. Hooker had been waiting on word from the Buckeyes and it was no surprise to see him jump on the offer so quickly.

Hooker is being recruited primarily as a safety by Ohio State and is the third prospect at the position to join the fold for the Buckeyes in the 2018 class along with four-star prospects Josh Proctor and Jaiden Woodbey.

BuckeyeGrove.com will have more on this commitment, including what it means for recruiting moving forward.
