Buckeye hoops lands local standout

Thad Matta and Ohio State landed one of the state's top class of 2016 prospects on Wednesday afternoon as Westerville South wing Andre Wesson announced he will be staying home.

The Ohio State basketball program landed its second commitment of the week on Wednesday afternoon, as Westerville (Ohio) South wing Andre Wesson announced that he would be staying home.

The 6-foot-6 prospect signed with the Buckeyes on Wednesday, becoming the fourth member of Ohio State's 2016 class. Wesson will eventually be teamed up again with his younger brother, Kaleb, a class of 2017 Ohio State commit at the center position.

Wesson is coming off a big senior season in which he helped lead Westerville South to the OHSAA Division I state championship. His drastic improvement during his senior season led to more than a dozen offers, but he ultimately narrowed things down to three schools, with his two other finalists being Butler and Richmond.

Stay tuned to BuckeyeGrove.com for more on Wesson's commitment.
