Better late than never for Jackson

Rarely do teams get a second chance to recruit a prospect that they've missed on, but the Buckeyes received a new life with defensive tackle Antwuan Jackson this year. The four-star Georgia native committed to Auburn over Ohio State the first time around in his recruiting process, but after a year with the SEC West program, he decided to transfer out.

Spending a year on the JUCO circuit can be quite a grind, but Jackson found a home at Blinn College in Texas where things quickly picked back up between the four-star prospect and the Buckeyes.

Jackson held a very close relationship with Ohio State defensive line coach during his recruiting process coming out of high school. A relationship which nearly put the Buckeyes over the top, but the pull to stay close to home was too strong.

Receiving a second chance to play for coach Johnson was simply too big of an opportunity for him to ignore after he reset his recruiting process.

"I'm blessed to have another chance to play for a great team," Jackson told BuckeyeGrove.com in September after he committed. "When I committed, I shed some tears."

Jackson is now signed with the Buckeyes and will early enroll in January to put himself in the best position to compete for playing time this fall in Columbus.
