Basketball recruit performance report

The Ohio State Buckeyes have numerous basketball commitments and targets in action every week. This past week was just filled with action by recruits. However it was one recruit, and one performance overall that stood out. That performance came from none other than Ohio State commitment B.J. Mullens.
OSU basketball commitments
B.J. Mullens: It was an enormous week for Mullens. First at the Flying to the Hoop tournament in Dayton, Ohio, Mullens had the best performance of his career. He scored a high of 64 points and also pulled in 21 rebounds. On top of that he finished out the week with a 29 point performance in Canal Winchester's 74-55 win.
William Buford: Not to be out done by his classmate Mullens, Buford also had a huge performance. First it was a triple-double. Buford scored 21 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and dished out 12 assists as Libbey cruised to a 78-43 win. Then in the next game Buford poured in 20 points and pulled down 12 rebounds as Libbey won a again, this time by the score of 73-58.
Anthony Crater: It has been a quiet season scoring wise for Crater. With teammates Emmanuel Negedu and Mark Lyons doing much of the scoring, Crater just runs the show. However in Brewster's latest 121-84 rout, Crater recorded a double-double. In that game he scored 14 points and also dished out an impressive 10 assists.
Trae Golden: So far Golden has shown why Ohio State wanted him so badly. The high scoring guard with point man skills has been one of the best players in the loaded Atlanta area. In his team's nail biting 71-68 loss, Golden scored a team high 30 points.
Cameron Wright: As the only member of Ohio State's 2010 class that isn't rated in the top 10 in the country, Wright doesn't get all the attention. Wright however is putting up some good numbers. In a close 54-51 win for Benedictine High School, Wright was the team leader with 17 points.
DeShaun Thomas: No player in the state of Indiana is putting up scoring numbers like Thomas. First in a 57-56 loss, Thomas was the game high scorer with 33 points. He then followed that one up with a 32 point performance as Bishop Luers rolled to an easy 79-56 win.
Jared Sullinger: It was a relatively easy week for Sullinger and company. First it was a 30 point blowout in which Sullinger scored a cool 16 points to pace the Northland Vikings. That game however was a barn burner compared to the second one of the week. Northland rolled Linden McKinley by the score of 83-16. In that game Sullinger scored a team high of 20 points.
OSU basketball targets
Adreian Payne: All things considered this was a fairly quiet week for Payne. He had one sub par performance, but he did follow it up strong. In his team's 64-57 win Payne led them with 17 points.
Daniel Orton: As one of the top players on Ohio State's 2009 recruiting board, Orton is going to get a lot of attention as the season progresses. In his team's 58-50 win, Orton led the way with a solid 20 points. He has been playing better since recovering from his early season knee injury.
Joshua Hairston: With possibly only one scholarship left in the 2010 class, Ohio State can afford to be picky. One player that they would absolutely love to land is Hairston. In a recent game Hairston scored 18 points as his team won 62-49. More significant however is that Ohio State head man Thad Matta was in the stands to take in the action.
Kenny Boynton: Even with drama surrounding his high school team, Boynton just continues to play hard basketball. In a game against good friend and top 2010 point guard Brandon Knight, Boynton scored 40 points and proved to everyone why he is one of the top players in the 2009 class.
Stephan Van Treese: This season has been a bit up and down for Van Treese. Last week was an up for the young power forward from Indianapolis. In Lawrence North's 63-50 win, Van Treese recorded a double-double of 15 points and 15 rebounds.
