Babb commits to Ohio State

The Buckeyes added a key piece to the offense in their recruiting class of 2018 with the verbal pledge of St. Louis wide out Kamryn Babb. The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder took to social media on Tuesday night to announce his pledge to the Buckeyes over offers from major schools in the Big Ten, SEC and Big 12 to name a few other suitors.

Babb is a four-star recruit and listed as the No. 165 recruit overall in the class of 2018 by Rivals.com. The Christian Brothers College star suffered a significant knee injury going into his senior season and missed the entire year of action. That did not stop schools like Ohio State and others for coveting the talented wideout and the Buckeyes ultimately landed the pledge after being considered a heavy favorite for Babb for some time.

The commitment of Babb gets the Buckeyes up to 20 in the class of 2018 and Babb is the second wideout, joining L'Christian 'Blue' Smith in the class.

Ohio State recently had Babb's high school teammate, fellow wide receiver Cameron Brown on campus this month for an official visit. Brown is committed currently to Nebraska but the Buckeyes are working hard to land the pair of wide receivers.

We will have more on this breaking news including the impact that Babb brings to the Buckeyes and what this means for Ohio State's recruiting effort moving forward as spots get tight in the recruiting class later this evening.
