Ohio State continued it's excellent run on the recruiting trail this spring with a commitment from four-star outside linebacker/defensive end Andrew Chatfield on Thursday. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound prospect comes as a bit of a surprise as Ohio State's 11th commitment in the 2018 class.

With several targets setting June announcement dates, Chatfield would not have been the first name on the minds of most Ohio State fans, but things moved very quickly between the four-star prospect and the Buckeyes after a recent offer came through.

Chatfield visited Ohio State in April along with his American Heritage teammates Tyson Campbell and Patrick Surtain Jr. Ohio State then sent defensive line coach Larry Johnson to South Florida to get a live evaluation last week, which led to the offer from the Buckeyes.

Chatfield is being recruited as a defensive end by Ohio State. BuckeyeGrove.com will have more on this commitment, including what it could mean for Ohio State's recruiting efforts moving forward.
