2023 four-star DL camps at OSU, says an offer would "mean the world" to him

Throughout the course of June, prospects from across the country have made their way to Ohio State’s campus with the goal of receiving a coveted offer from Ryan Day’s staff.

The camp setting provides recruits with a chance to showcase their skill sets in front of the coaches, with the Buckeyes hosting yet another one on Tuesday.

Among the group of players in attendance was Justin Benton, a four-star 2023 defensive lineman hailing from IMG Academy. Even though his time at the school did not result in an offer just yet, Benton relished the opportunity to learn from Larry Johnson.

“Everything was going good,” Benton told BuckeyeGrove’s Kevin Noon and others. “Moved well through drills. High intensity. Coach J is great, so everything went well.”

Like other prospects at his position that have camped at Ohio State this month, Benton had high praise for Johnson. The 6-foot-2, 255-pounder even went on to say that Johnson is in the discussion for "Greatest of All Time" at what he does.

“It meant a lot to me just to work with the ‘GOAT,’” Benton said. “He’s one of the ‘GOATs.’ He’s one of the greatest d-line coaches in the game. It meant a lot to me.”
