CUMMING, Georgia — Few prospects see such a dramatic boom in their recruiting processes as Oscar Delp.
Prior to Sept. 1 — which is when college coaches could first start contacting juniors — Delp had no scholarship offers on the table. Since then, however, Delp has seen over a dozen programs dip into his recruitment.
From Auburn, to Stanford, to West Virginia, to the in-state Georgia Bulldogs, Delp has caught the attention of schools from different parts of the country. Ohio State ended up giving the green light to Delp exactly three weeks ago, and have established daily contact with the sought-after tight end.
“Me and Coach Kevin [Wilson] are texting every day,” Delp said. “We’re always talking. Get on Zoom calls. Go over their practices just to see what they’re doing with their tight ends. We’re building a great relationship. Me and coach Day are always speaking as well.
