New York Reigns Over Elite 24

In an exciting high scoring game that reached NBA numbers, the Skip to My Lou (White) team coached by Dwayne "Tiny" Morton (Lincoln HS), Rajon Rondo (Boston Celtics), Tyreke Evans (Memphis Grizzlies) defeated the Goat (Orange) team coached by Peter Vecsey (NY Post), Kevin Love (Minnesota Timberwolves), and Brandon Jennings (Milwaukee Bucks), 133-120.

Mother Nature would take the 4th annual Boost Mobile Elite 24 out of the Manhattan and into the Bronx, NY. The sudden down pour held the audience captive to their seats, literally, as the rain dominated the game plan early. Rucker Park, fans sat patiently in the bleachers, some with umbrellas. Others just sat hopeful that the game would eventually start. The ESPN staff worked feverishly on clearing the rain from the wet court in an attempt to still hold the game at the famed Rucker Park. But after another sudden rain fall occurred, the announcement was made that the game would move to the Gauchos gym in the Bronx.

At the Gauchos Gym, the game and preparations would become another ordeal. The All-American Slam Dunk Contest had to be cut from the program due to the relocation and lack of time. The game, scheduled to begin at 7:30pm was delayed until 9:40pm but neither rain nor location change could stop the action.

In the first quarter, C.J. Leslie would slam one in, electrifying the crowd ,with Kyrie Irving following through with a driving lay-up as the Goat team led the first quarter taking the lead by two. Josh Selby would excite the fans, turning into a human highlight reel with spectacular dunks bringing the crowd to their feet.

The second quarter was about defense and productivity on both sides as Skip to My Lou would edge out in front, 59-58 at the half as New Yorkers Doron Lamb and Tobias Harris began to take over.

In third quarter, the Goat team was relentless as Dion Waiters dished off to to Leslie in back-to-back plays, slamming in four points for the orange team. The lead would trade hands on a few occasions but in the fourth quarter, the Skip to My Lou team simply had more in the tank and closed the show.

The co-MVP game title for the "Skip to My Lou" team game high would go to Lamb and Harris. The co-MVP title for "The Goat" orange team would go to Leslie and Selby. Doron Lamb was the games high scorer with 23 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Tobias Harris would add 20 points and five rebounds. Josh Selby led in scoring for his team with 18 points, six assists while C.J. Leslie added 15 points and 11 rebounds.
