Doug Wiggins likes to entertain.

So when 80 of the nation's top high school football players head to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., for the inaugural Offense-Defense All-American Bowl, expect Wiggins of Miami North Miami Beach High to be a gracious host.

The game is scheduled for Jan. 4 in Fort Lauderdale and will be broadcast live on ESPNU. Rivals.com is the official selection partner for the Offense-Defense All-America Bowl.

Five facts about Doug Wiggins
His personal hero: God.
Wants to wear No. 1 or No. 11 in the All-American Bowl.
His favorite movie: The Bourne Identity.
What he wants to accomplish in life: To be a better man, good husband and fantastic role model for his family.
Plans to major in business in college.
"We're going to show them how we do it in South Florida," Wiggins said with a smile. "They're going to be coming down to my neck of the woods and we're going to show those boys from California and Texas that the best football is played in Florida."

Wiggins isn't cocky. He's just confident.

"There must be something in the water down here," Wiggins said. "You have to be able to walk-the-walk and talk-the-talk. We just know how to play hard, fast and tough. We can back up all the talk, too."

Wiggins said he hopes to have a big crowd of fans from his high school at the game.

"I was really surprised when I got the invitation," Wiggins said. "I have always wanted to play in an All-American game, but when I hadn't heard from anybody, I started to give up hope. But this is a really exciting opportunity for me, and I'm really honored."

So what will fans see from Wiggins?

"They're going to see a player that's going to keep them on the edge of their seat," Wiggins said. "They're going to see a guy that's running up and down the field on both sides of the ball making big plays. I'm open to playing receiver, defensive back, whatever. Just let me get out there and help the team win."

Wiggins is slated to take an official visit this weekend to Michigan. He has already visited Georgia, and he lists the Bulldogs and Wolverines as his top two teams. He's also looking at South Carolina, Oklahoma, Western Michigan and is interested to see what happens with the new coaching situation at Miami.

Wiggins hinted he could make his decision at the All-American game or at his high school team banquet in late December. He is a mid-term graduate and will be able to enroll at his school of choice in January.
