Chat Room FAQ [TOP]

I'm a first-time chat user and I cannot get the chat window open

  • Solution 1:
Check to see if you are using any sort of pop-up ad zapper software on your browser. The chat window operates in a similar fashion to pop-up ad windows and your software may think the chat room window is another pop-up ad. Turn off the ad zapper software and it should work immediately.
  • Solution 2:
There are four different options to choose from when loading the chat room. The first option Plugin requires that you have all Active X options enabled on your browser settings. Head to your Internet Options screen and then select Security. In the Security screen, click on the button that says "Custom Level" and then enable all options that mention Active X. If you select any other option, you do not have to have Active X enabled on your browser.
  • Solution 3:
You just haven't given the applet enough time to load. First time users should allow the applet plenty of time to load into the system. Expect at least a 5 minute download time in most cases for first-time users.
I've used the chat rooms before, but now it just says "Access granted, logging in", but no window pops up
  • Solution 1:
Make sure that you are not using any sort of pop-up ad zapper software on your browser. The chat window operates in a similar fashion to pop-up ad windows and your software may think the chat room window is another pop-up ad. Turn off the ad zapper software and it should work immediately.
  • Solution 2:
You did not successfully log out of the chat room during the last session. If you just close the chat room window without logging out of the chat, you are not going to be able to log back in successfully the next time. To successfully log out of a chat session, you must type in /exit Username... For example: /exit TigerDad44 or /exit BuckStud55. To fix an error where you did not successfully log out, you will just need to hit the Back button on your browser until you get to the Chat login screen again and then slightly alter your chat nickname. Chat nicknames do not need to be the same as message board nicknames, so slightly altering the nickname should get you in just fine.
I try to get into the chat room, but keep getting a message that my user name is already in use
  • Solution
The chat room nicknames do not have to match your message board nicknames, so it is possible that someone else has come in and signed up under that name for the chat session. Alter your nickname a little and it should go through. For example, if your nickname on the message boards is TigerDad, change it to TigerDad42 and it should go through just fine.
