COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Six former Ohio State football players have been invited to the NFL Scouting Combine, which starts Feb. 19 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

They include linebacker Ryan Shazier, running back Carlos Hyde, cornerback Bradley Roby, wide receiver Corey Brown and offensive linemen Jack Mewhort and Corey Linsley.

Of course, that means former Buckeyes like Christian Bryant and C.J. Barnett, offensive linemen Andrew Norwell and Marcus Hall and quarterback Kenny Guiton did not receive such a nod.

Ohio State coach Urban Meyer confirmed Wednesday that Bryant would not receive a medical redshirt after exhausting the appellate process.

The combine, which will be held until Feb. 25, invited 335 total participants and 85 underclassmen, according to multiple reports Thursday morning. Shazier and Roby opted to forgo their senior seasons and enter the NFL draft instead.

Ohio State's Pro Day is set for March 7 at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center in Columbus, which will almost certainly invite anyone of its players with the intention of making an NFL roster.

Last year, the Buckeyes had three players (Johnathan Hankins, John Simon and Reid Fragel) drafted.

Ohio State finished its 2013 campaign 12-2 and ranked No. 12.
