COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ryan Shazier and Jack Mewhort can add another honor to their resumes.

The Ohio State junior linebacker and senior tackle were named first-team All-Americans by ESPN.com Monday afternoon.

Both players, of course, have been integral parts of a Buckeyes team that will face Clemson in the Orange Bowl on Jan. 3 in Miami, Fla.

For Shazier, the award comes in addition to being named a first-team All-American selection by USA Today, a second-teamer on the Walter Camp All-American squad and a first-team All-Big Ten pick by the coaches and the media.

Shazier, who has yet to decide if he'll stay for his senior season or enter the NFL draft, has 134 tackles, 22.5 TFLS, 6 sacks and 4 forced fumbles through 13 games this season.

Mewhort, who coach Urban Meyer time and again pointed to as the chief of his squad this season, is also a second-team Walter Camp All-American and first-team Big Ten selection by the media.

He's part of an Ohio State offense that averaged 46 points and 519 total yards.
