CINCINNATI - The Ohio State coaching staff is making a strong push in the Chicago area, one of the more fertile recruiting grounds in the Midwest. The Core 6 group out of Chicago is one that has helped train some big-time prospects in recent years and the Buckeyes have recruited several prospects out of the program.

Down the road, one prospect that may end up on the Ohio State radar is Chicago (Ill.) Kenwood outside linebacker Arthur Williams. The 6-foot, 213-pound class of 2015 prospect competed in the Core 6 showcase in Cincinnati on Sunday and is already hearing from a pair of local programs.

"I've talked to coaches at Northern Illinois and I've talked to coach Mike Bellamy at Illinois," said Williams. "I'm very interested in Illinois; it gets you ready to be successful in life. I remember going to a junior day and they had people who were juniors that were already working on their masters. It really prepares you for life, not just football but the rest of life."

While Williams maintains a high interest level in both of those programs, there is one school that he is waiting to hear from.

"My favorite school is Ohio State," he said. "Honestly I started liking them when I was like four years old. I watched one football game and from then on I just started watching every football game every Saturday. After that, I just started loving them. It was just the team, period. I didn't even know names at first, I just knew that was the Buckeyes. Actually that first game that I watched was against Michigan and they ended up winning."

Williams is coming off an impressive sophomore season at Kenwood where he showed a knack for getting after the quarterback.

"I did good, but our team didn't make the playoffs," he explained. "Personally I had eight sacks in eight games and 47 tackles."

As for what allowed him to post those impressive numbers as a sophomore, Williams says it is a high effort level.

"My strengths would probably be that I have a high motor," he said. "I know that I'm not always the best person out there so I have to work on everything. With that being said, I do know who I am and what I can be but I know where I'm at right now and I'm not settling for that."

Williams added that he will camp with both Illinois and Northern Illinois over the summer.
