Weekend Wrapup: Kamara done with visits

MORE: Rivals100 | Rivals250

Georgia had two five-star defenders -- linebacker Reuben Foster and defensive end Montravius Adams -- on campus over the weekend, as well as three-star Florida State DE commit Davin Bellamy. But the most interesting early returns are coming from the lone visitor on the other side of the ball.

Get the scoop on your team:

Fast-rising four-star RB Alvin Kamara won't announce his decision until Signing Day, but after visiting Athens he is done with official visits. His only other visit was to Alabama, and now he has some thinking to do.

"I'm really putting everything together in my head right now," Kamara told UGASports.com. "I'm trying to figure out what school has more qualities I'm looking for. Both visits had different things to offer, and I got what I needed out of the two."

In addition to getting Kamara's last visit, the Bulldogs could be helped by the fact that he had the undivided attention of the offensive staff as the only visitor on the offensive side of the ball. The nation's No. 2 all-purpose back, Kamara was the biggest mover in the recently released Rivals100, jumping 101 spots to No. 45 overall in the country.

Here is a compilation of other official visit reports from across the country.

Official Visit Weekend Wrapup: Jan. 28, 2013
This was the first of two major recruiting weekends for the Razorbacks, and it was a productive one. New coach Bret Bielema picked up commitments from three-star ATH D.J. Dean, DT Ke'tyrus Marks and DB De'Andre Coley. Four-star UCLA OT commit Kenny Lacy was impressed with the Hawgs' facilities, while uncommitted four-star RB Alex Collins now has some thinking to do after taking the last of his five official visits.

The Tigers ended up not hosting Texas A&M receiver commit Derrick Griffin as they hoped, but it was still a good weekend. Three-star ATH Marcus Davis pledged to The Plains on Sunday, and Auburn seems to be in good shape with Jonathan Walton, a two-star ILB who is also looking at South Carolina. And the best may be yet to come as the Tigers are now in the mix for four-star RB Johnathan Ford, who is a Vanderbilt commit but has added some big offers in the past week.

New coach Sonny Dykes had a strong weekend building his defensive line, flipping two-star DT Jacobi Hunter, who had been committed to Indiana, and also pulling in three-star DE Raymond Davison and JUCO DT Marcus Manley. Uncommitted three-star DB Patrick Enewally also had good things to say coming out of the weekend, and two-star WR commit Caleb Coleman came out of his visit as solid as ever.

Four-star WR Jordan Cunningham, the No. 21 WR in the nation, came away from his visit impressed with FSU's academics, a good sign given that Vanderbilt and Stanford are also on his list of finalists. For now, Cunningham says he has no leader and will visit Miami next. Two Florida State commits, three-star C Ryan Hoefeld and four-star WR Isaiah Jones, were also on hand and were likely working on Cunningham to join them.

Despite rumors that swirled over the weekend, four-star LB James Hearns did not commit during his official visit, but the Wildcats appear to lead for his services. Also now proclaiming Kentucky as the leader is Marcus McWilson, a four-star safety who had been committed to Nebraska.

Mississippi State added three-star quarterback Damian Williams to the fold after his official visit, good news for a program that just lost four-star OL Deon Mix over the weekend and good insurance in case four-star QB commit Cord Sandberg chooses a pro baseball career. Three-star WR B.J. Hammond came out of his official visit solidly committed to the Bulldogs.
Bulldogs gain one, lose another
The Irish had a successful weekend, landing their 23rd commitment for the class in the form of three-star TE Durham Smythe. But that may have been just the beginning as four-star LB Deon Hollins Jr., a UCLA commit since March, had a great visit and now says he is not sure when he will make a final choice. And four-star DE Kylie Fitts, a former USC commit who has plenty of options out West, said after his visit to South Bend that Notre Dame is right in the mix for his pledge.

Four-star WR James Clark had nothing but good things to say about his visit, but he'll stick to his plan to visit Florida next weekend before announcing his choice on Signing Day. Four-star APB Dontre Wilson, long an Oregon pledge who started looking around when Chip Kelly left for the NFL, also left Columbus without flipping, as expected, and is expected to visit Oklahoma State next weekend.

Robert Nkemdiche, the nation's top prospect, is playing things close to the vest after visiting the Rebels and his brother Denzel over the weekend. But high school teammate and three-star DB David Kamara named Ole Miss his leader and told RebelGrove.com that Nkemdiche enjoyed the trip but will visit LSU next weekend. The Rebels also got good news from four-star WR Quincy Adeboyejo, who committed on his official visit Friday. In addition to Nkemdiche, uncommitted five-stars Chris Jones and Laremy Tunsil were on hand, and five-star WR commit Laquon Treadwell was also in Oxford.
