Instead of preparing for the second half of the evaluation period, Harrison Barnes has decided to take the remainder of July off in-order to allow his body to heal. The 6-foot-6, 206-pound small forward from Ames (IA) Senior High School also intends to spend quite a bit of time thinking about his recruitment. According to the No. 2 ranked player in the 2010 class, he intends to trim his list of schools to five in the near future. Jayhawk Slant has the very latest on Barnes inside.

Head coaches hoping to get a closer look at Barnes, the top ranked small forward in the class of 2010, are going to be extremely disappointed. It should come as no surprise that many had planned to do just that in the coming days.
