JUCO wideout set for first visit
If his freshman season is any indication then Hinds Community College wide receiver Treyvias Alexander will likely be a hot commodity this fall.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder is projected by many to be the top junior college wideout in the state for the 2010 class. Alexander already has several offers and could have more on the horizon.
"Recruiting has been going real good," Alexander said. "I've been getting a lot of attention from Ole Miss, Southern Miss, Florida State and Arkansas. Alabama and Florida have been calling my school so everything has been going real good and my season hasn't even started yet."
Alexander has four offers on the table from Southern Miss, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana Tech and Utah State.
Alexander could pull in his first Southeastern Conference offer later this month when he takes his first visit to Mississippi State for the Big Dawgs Camp on July 24th.
"Mississippi State is going to be the first campus I step foot on," Alexander said. "I want to see the atmosphere there and the more I feel at home is what is going to pull me in. The quicker the coaches make me feel at home, the quicker they've got me. If they promise me all the right things about how I will fit into the offense then I will be there on Saturdays next season."
Alexander spoke with MSU wide receivers coach Mark Hudspeth via telephone Thursday night. Hudspeth was delighted that Alexander called and quickly invited him to the camp.
