Another Louisiana DT with offers
Since the end of the 2008 season, one Louisiana name that has been getting a lot of national hype is New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr quarterback Munchie Legaux. However, as the summer approaches, Legaux's teammate Harold Legania is a name that is steadily heating up.
At 6-4, 281 pounds, Legania is a big defensive tackle prospect that looks great on the hoof. As college coaches have flocked to the Edna Karr program this spring, several of them have left an offer behind for the talented defender.
"A lot of coaches came and talked to me," Legania said. "Southern Miss, Ole Miss, LSU campe by, FIU, Texas Tech. IT was just different schools that came through and wanted to see me play and practice. Mississippi State they offered me a full scholarship, also FIU, Ole Miss and Southern Miss."
With four early offers, Mississippi State is one that has already stood out to Legania.
"I just liked the way the guy broke it down to me saying I might get a chance to play as a freshman," he said. "I'm looking for a college that will work with me on and off the field and they really have that."
Legania is also interested in the in-state LSU Tigers as well as a program that has placed an increased emphasis on recruiting Louisiana in the Tennessee Volunteers.
"I like Tennessee and I like LSU but they haven't offered me yet," he said. "I also like Miami but that's just a school that I'd like to go to."
With a diverse taste in programs and a diverse group of schools showing interest, Legania has a wide range of camps he plans to attend this summer. IN two weeks, he plans to go to camp at FIU. He also has plans to camp at Mississippi State, Michigan, Tulsa and LSU.
With a strong summer of work, Legania hopes to improve on his 15 sacks as a junior and his 45 solo tackles. He already has been showcasing some unique talents this spring.
"I got better in the spring and I feel like I picked my game up a lot," he said. "I pursue the ball a lot this year. I did well staying low and exploding off the ball. This summer I'm trying to get faster and stronger number one. That's all I'm focused on. That and staying low."
