Continuing the trend

You can count on the state of Texas to put out at least one top national running back prospect each and every year, and the story will be no different in 2009.

A couple of names have already surfaced as elite-level runners, and there's some talk that Madisonville's Chris Whaley could wind up being the best of the bunch. The talented junior-to-be churned out more than 2,100 yards and 28 touchdowns during his sophomore season, and college coaches have already begun taking notice.

While it's still very early and there's plenty of time for things to change, Whaley mentioned three schools that have caught his early attention: Texas, Oklahoma and Texas A&M.
