Michigan back at Fresno Edison in '08
When Michigan assistant Ron English offered and received a commitment from Fresno (Calif.) Edison cornerback Johnny Sears in the class of 2005, his name had barely registered on recruiting radar screens. In just his second season with the Wolverines, Sears saw significant playing time in the defensive secondary and will be heavily in the mix next fall to start as a redshirt sophomore.
Fresno Edison players, especially defensive backs, rarely go under the radar when they have talent because the school has produced so many elite caliber athletes and Sears was a unique case because he did not play as a junior in high school. Two defensive backs at Edison in the class of 2008 are already seeing significant attention directed their way and English is once again in the mix for those prospects.
