McLaurin desperately wanted an Ohio State offer and after competing at Ohio State's first one-day camp and winning "Smokehouse" (an all position race for fastest player at camp) he was given a list of things to work on and told if he came to the second one-day camp and showed improvement that he would get that offer. McLaurin did that and picked up that coveted offer and committed shortly there after over Purdue and Missouri. Other schools attempted to get on board late but McLaurin was firmly committed to the Buckeyes.

Scouting Report: "The kid puts up ridiculous testing numbers but the other thing that I like about him is that he's an extremely hard worker. He's not a kid that rests on his athletic skill set, he's trying to get better all the time. Early on in his career I think he will make his impact on special teams but Urban Meyer knows how to utilize special athletes and I think he will do that with Terry. I want to see him develop a little more as a pass-catcher as he has shown the ability to kind of fight the football at times." - Midwest analyst Josh Helmholdt
