MIAMI-Curled up in a ball, Braxton Miller lay on the ground, wincing in pain. Two athletic trainers in scarlet windbreakers and khakis huddled over him. After a few minutes, the junior quarterback got up, and limped off the field.

Ohio State took plenty of hits this week in Miami, the most crushing saved for Friday night, and the most vicious saved for Miller. It started with Noah Spence, suspended for three games, and Bradley Roby, suffering from a knee bruise, not being able to play. It ended with the Buckeyes walking off the field, their faces flushed, for the second-straight game.

Coming off a loss to Michigan State in the Big Ten Championship, with its national title dreams shattered, Ohio State had a chance to salvage its lost championship dream with a win in a BCS game. It didn't get it. The No. 5 Buckeyes fell to No. 12 Clemson, 40-35, in the Discover Orange Bowl at Sun Life Stadium in Miami.
