COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Dave Dickerson is exceptionally fond of his memories from Maryland and it seems to be for good reason.

"My nine years there as an assistant coach were probably the best nine years of my life," Dickerson, who finds himself in the same role with Ohio State as a member of Thad Matta's staff, said.

"Obviously winning the national championship and going to back-to-back Final Fours were a big deal for me and my family."

But Dickerson, who also played for the Terrapins from 1986-89, said his loyalties remain strictly with the Buckeyes when they play the place he once called home Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Schottenstein Center as part of the annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

"This is my first time ever coaching against Maryland but I as far as that emotional part of it, it lies with Ohio State," he said.

"My ties are to Ohio State now. I have emotional ties to Lenzelle Smith and Aaron Craft and Sam Thompson and those guys."
