Ducks pursuing N.C. tight end
Josh McNeil has only been playing football for a year but he has made a name for himself in almost no time. The Durham (N.C.) Hillside tight end is now coveted by colleges all over the country, including Oregon.
Oregon is one of many schools that has offered McNeil. Some of the others are Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Notre Dame and Ohio State. In other words, his offer sheet just about reads like a who's who list in the world of college football.
So how did McNeil make a name for himself in such short order? He obviously picked up on things very quickly and it didn't hurt that he was blessed with outstanding athleticism that simply can't be taught. His 6-foot-5, 235-pound frame is also ideal for a tight end at the high school level. It's easy to envision him carrying 260-pounds in college without sacrificing any of the speed or quickness that make him such a difficult matchup now.
