Rivals100 receiver to visit UC, Michigan
Cincinnati (Ohio) Taft wide receiver Dwayne Stanford is one of the Midwest's top targets and he'll be hitting the road this week to check out a couple of the schools that are high on his list.
In the past Stanford, ranked No. 93 on the Rivals100, mentioned that the idea of being the "hometown hero" at Cincinnati is appealing to him. He'll get another chance to meet with the coaches and talk about the school shortly.
"Tomorrow I'll probably go over to the University of Cincinnati," Stanford relayed on Tuesday.
Stanford is very familiar with what the Bearcats have to offer so don't expect anything groundbreaking. It's just another opportunity to continue to develop a relationship with the coaching staff.
He's got another trip in his sights for the weekend.
"This weekend I'm trying to get up to Michigan to see their campus and everything," he added. "This will be my first time going up there. I'm just going in with an open mind to see what they have to offer and see what it's like. I know the academics are good. I really want to see the facilities and hang out with everybody."
After that Stanford said he's hoping to visit Louisville, North Carolina and Tennessee. He then wants to take a trip into Deep South country to check out some of those schools that are on his radar.
Now that it has been a while since news broke about the Ohio State coaching situation, what are Stanford's thoughts on the Buckeyes?
"You know, I think Ohio State's tradition and the program overall is bigger than any one coach or player. They've still got great players there and Coach (Luke) Fickell was under Coach Tressel. I think they'll be alright this year. It really just depends on what the NCAA does and what happens with their head coaching job after this season."
