LB Tobin has three officials set

Holmdel (N.J.) St. John Vianney linebacker Sean Tobin recently picked up his first scholarship offer.

The recruiting process is moving at a rapid rate for the 6-foot-3, 220-pound linebacker. Colorado State offered him a scholarship about five days ago and the Rams are now at the front of his mind.

"They actually heard about me and saw some of my film and then I sent them more film," Tobin said.

Colorado State isn't the only school that's interested. Tobin has set up three official visits in all.

"I'm taking official visits to Georgia Tech (January 14), Colorado State (January 21) and Virginia Tech (January 28)," he said.

"Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech have said they just have to wait and see if they have any scholarships. They've told me I need to be patient. I'll probably know more when I get up there for my visits."

The Yellow Jackets and Hokies actually might not even ask Tobin to play linebacker.

"They're actually recruiting me to play long snapper, too," he said. "I don't know if I would be getting looks from big schools like that if they didn't want me to play linebacker."

This fall Tobin registered more than 80 tackles, eight sacks and one interception for St. John Vianney. The school finished with a 4-6 record.

Tobin's cousin, Anthony DiPaula, is a kicker that is verbally committed to Rutgers.
