Chaparral star details commitment
Oregon offensive line coach Steve Greatwood got some good news Saturday. Chaparral (Ariz.) star Andre Yruretagoyena gave him a call to let him that the veteran line coach had a new protégé.
Duck Sports Authority caught up with the 6-foot-4, 260 offensive guard to get his thoughts on the Ducks and his commitment.
DSA: What were the primary factors in your decision to choose Oregon?
Andre Yruretagoyena: The main thing was the feeling I had when I was there. I knew I wouldn't get that anywhere else, and there was no point in waiting. I love the coaches, players, and people I met. They have great plans for the Ducks and I want nothing more than to be apart of it. I loved everything about the school, city, and people.
DSA: Who did you talk to when you committed and describe how that conversation went.
Andre Yruretagoyena: I called Coach Greatwood and I told him I had good news. His voice starting to get a little higher toned and I think he got the idea. When I told him he was really really pumped up about it and called Coach Kelly who e-mailed me two minutes later. So they're really excited about having me.
DSA: Who was your primary recruiter and what are your thoughts on him?
Andre Yruretagoyena: Coach Greatwood. Well he's my coach, or will be in a year and I like the type of coach he is. He supports his players and coaches them. He yells at you when you need to be yelled at but praises you when you deserve it.
