Virginia OL plans to return for second camp

Virginia Tech took note of a few prospects at the first summer camp on Saturday. At least a couple plan to be back in town for the second event in July including an emerging lineman.

"I enjoyed it," Roanoke (Va.) William Fleming offensive guard Sedale Young said of Tech's first camp. "I thought I did really well.

"On offense in one-on-ones I think that's where I did really well. I got beat once or twice by Woody Baron, but he was pretty good. Other than that, I think I did well and gave it all I could."

What was Tech's reaction to his play?

"Coach Newsome, Coach Stinespring and Coach Cavanaugh, really all of them, Beamer too said they were really interested," he stated. "They told me when they were able to call me back again they would. They said I was high on their list for the offensive line. They plan to keep in touch a lot."

The camp was Young's first ever in front of college coaches and he learned a lot from the experience.

"I learned how to play better all around with pass blocking and using my feet and hands better," he said. "I really enjoyed the whole day."

Young confirmed Tech requested he come back again next month.

"They asked me to come back, so I'm planning to be back up there on July 10th."

Before his return to Blacksburg, the 6-foot-3, 289-pounder plans to visit a number of other camps across the region.

"On the 13th I'm going to East Carolina, then to Maryland's camp on the 20th and Richmond's camp on July 24th," he said. "East Carolina told me I wouldn't come out of their camp empty handed and Maryland is really interested as well. They just have to evaluate me."
