Cook High's Shannon Brown wanted to make it perfectly clear - he is still committed to Alabama.
However, in an interview with UGASports, the 6-foot-2, 235-pounder said he's still keeping an open mind.
SEC rivals LSU, Auburn and Georgia have been three of the schools who have recently dropped by Adel to try and convince Brown to give their programs another look.
Will he listen?
"I haven't look at Auburn yet, but I might check it out and go from there," Brown said. "I'm looking at a couple of other things, too."
The Bulldogs, however, apparently have some work to do.
"I'm not really feeling Georgia right now," said Brown, although he had some very kind words t say about defensive coordinator Todd Grantham.
Brown said the two have been talking ever since Grantham became the Bulldogs' new DC back in January.
"I love Coach Grantham," Brown said. "He's a good guy. I used to call him all the time and it wasn't all about football. We can talk about anything. He's a good family guy."
Time will tell if the Bulldogs can actually get back into the fray for Brown, who seemed to give conflicting answers when asked directly about their chances.
"Right now they're not really in it, I can say that," Brown said. "But they have a chance."
Brown's also looking forward to putting last year's disappointing season behind him.
With a new coach in place, Brown will also be playing a new position for the Hornets this fall - running back.
"I don't mind the switch at all. I like running back," said Brown, who added that he's also a very different person than he was a season ago.
"I'm more coachable," Brown said. "I understand who has the authority and who doesn't and just the whole concept of football, really."
