Can Spartans sway Gopher verbal their way?

Though Minnetonka (Minn.) cornerback prospect James Farrow is currently committed to the University of Minnesota, he continues to evaluate his college options to ensure he is making the right decision about his future as a student-athlete.

"I'm a soft verbal to Minnesota right now, and I'm just kind of trying to make sure I find the best place for me," Farrow told Wednesday night.

Farrow (6-0, 178) holds offers from Minnesota, Michigan State, Arkansas, Indiana, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Buffalo and Hawaii offered him on Wednesday. He is also receiving interest from Cincinnati, UCLA and Wisconsin.

According to Farrow, the Spartans are very involved in his recruitment, and thus far he's built a pretty strong relationship with his primary recruiter, MSU running backs coach Brad Salem.

"I've been in pretty frequent contact with Michigan State. I have a pretty good relationship with Coach Salem, who has been recruiting me, and his dad coached my dad (at Minnesota) and he's from Minnesota," Farrow shared. "So, we've kind of built a relationship. He's been basically the one I'm talking to, and, Michigan State has a lot to offer. I visited (this spring) and I could definitely see Michigan State potentially being a school I could attend in the future."

"I think one thing that really stood out was the stability of the coaching staff," Farrow continued about what he likes about the Spartans. "Coach (Mark) Dantonio has been there and it looks like he will be there for a while. I think that's one thing that has me thinking about Michigan State a lot more, and then also the tradition of Michigan State. It has a lot of tradition and its overall a good school there, a winning school, usually, and it's a nice place."
