Izzo made the difference for Payne

DAYTON, Ohio - The long recruiting process for five-star big man Adreian Payne came to end on Thursday when he announced his commitment to Michigan State. After a host of official and unofficial visits, Payne said it was his comfort with the head coach that made the difference.

On the basketball floor there is very little that Payne can't do. His combination of size, athleticism, and skill are nearly unmatched in the class. Off the court Payne has also proved to have a talent, he managed to keep the media and coaches guessing for a long time as to his eventual destination.

For Payne it has been a long process, but he is glad it is now over.

"It's been a grind. You have to stick with it, but that is what it is. It is a grind," explained Payne. Despite the long process, he woke up excited, but a little nervous to make his choice. "I was kind of nervous, and I didn't know what to expect. Everyone was asking me about things. I really didn't know it would be like this with everybody here."
