Randolph takes in another Jacket win
Kell safety Brian Randolph is one of the top recruits in the country for the 2011 class and he has offers from several top schools around the southeast including Georgia Tech. Randolph took in the Georgia Tech win over Virginia Tech last week and was impressed with what he saw on the field.
"I was expecting a great rivalry game going into it and to see all the coaches and players pumped up. I talked to the coaches and they let me know how much they want me over there," Randolph said.
After watching the Jacksonville State game, Randolph was impressed with the difference in energy from the Jacket crowd during the Virginia Tech game.
"The atmosphere was not as laid back as the Jacksonville State," he said. "I think the program is definitely going up."
Brian's brother Justin Randolph is freshman A-back for the Jackets and he has been trying to convince Brian to join him in Atlanta.
"Justin says he likes the football program at Georgia Tech and he did say that school is kind of boring which was funny," he said. "He is trying to get me there."
While playing with his brother is a positive for the Jackets, Brian is not to tied to the idea of playing with Justin at Georgia Tech.
"I don't think it would be tough if I go somewhere else," he said. "I am concentrating on both my season and my recruiting."
Randolph has several other trips in mind after watching the Jackets play twice this year, once at Mississippi State and twice at home.
"I am trying to go to Florida and I am going to the Georgia-Auburn game later this year," he said. "I am thinking about going up to Tennessee at some point. I saw the Tennessee-UCLA game earlier this year and the Mississippi State-Georgia Tech game."
While Randolph does not have a top ten yet, he has four favorite teams and three that are pursuing him the hardest.
"The schools high on my list now are Georgia Tech, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida," he said. "Georgia, Georgia Tech and Tennessee are recruiting me the hardest."
