Ohio State picked up some welcome news on Monday when Westlake (Ohio) tight end Blake Thomas ended his recruitment and selected the Buckeyes over Boston College. BuckeyeGrove.com received confirmation of the commitment via text message from Blake.

"Yes, I committed to OSU (Monday)," Thomas said via text message.

Thomas received his offer from Ohio State less than a week ago and it didn't take long for him to act upon it.

"I think it's awesome," said Thomas of the offer in an interview over the weekend. "Ohio State is one of the offers that I've been waiting for and I'm really excited about it. I feel like a lot of hard work has gone into it and I think that I could do really well there. I'm really looking forward to getting down to the campus and seeing it again."

The 6-foot-4, 240-pounder is the 7th member of the Ohio State recruiting class and the 6th on the offensive side of the ball.

Keep it here for more on this breaking news including a full update from Thomas and what went into the decision.
