Does Vannett know where he wants to go?

The Buckeyes have made a nice little run on offensive players in the last week in landing quarterback Braxton Miller and wide receiver Evan Spencer but could a tight end be coming soon? Ohio State already has a commit from Jeff Heuerman but definitely wants to take two in this class and Westerville (Ohio) Central high school tight end Nick Vannett is at the top of the list.

Not only is the 6-foot-6, 230-pounder at the top of the list he is the only other tight end that is on the list at this point. But Vannett has had interest from more schools than just the hometown Buckeyes and things started to get 'a little crazy' for Vannett for a while as more and more schools were getting on board.

"I'm down to a top seven now," Vannett said. "I will be taking a few visits to Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Penn State within the next couple of weeks."

Vannett was also looking very closely at Notre Dame for a while before the Irish took a commitment from another tight end to fill their roster need. Notre Dame may have been high on Vannett's list for a while but now it appears that there is a new favorite, but Vannett isn't quite ready yet to announce which school that may be.

"I have my mind made up on where I want to go," Vannett said. "I want to take these visits to those schools to ensure it is the right choice."

And while most people who have been following things closely believe that school is Ohio State there shouldn't be that much longer to wait to find out for sure.

"I am planning on announcing at the end of this month," Vannett said.
