October 22, 2007 It was another week in the world of high school football and that means another bevy of impressive performances for Ohio State targets and commitments. This weekend there were several high profile games with big time performances. One of the most impressive performances was turned in by OSU commitment Nathan Williams.Jake Stoneburner and Mike Adams: It was a big game for the Coffman duo. Stoneburner made a spectacular one handed touchdown catch for 24 yards. Also Adams helped open up holes all game long as Coffman rushed for over 200 yards. The Shamrocks came away with a 36-0 victory. J.B. Shugarts: It was a tough weekend for Shugarts. His team lost an absolute heartbreaker to cross town rival Klein Forest 19-17. In the game Shugarts was a dominant force and recorded double digit pancake blocks. Nathan Williams: Miami Trace continued their hot play behind the power running and impressive defense of their star. Williams scored all three touchdowns for Trace, and also made double digit tackles as they won again 21-6. This gives Trace a chance to win the league next weekend against Washington Court House. DeVier Posey: It was a disappointing weekend for Posey. With his team facing a must win game, the Lancers just couldn't get it done. LaSalle fell by the score of 35-20. In the game Posey made four catches for 53 yards and a touchdown. Ben Buchanan: It was another solid weekend for Buchanan. He was six of six on extra points, and also made two field goals from 30 and 26 yards respectively. Despite his team rolling up a 54-10 win, Buchanan did punt the ball a couple of times for an average of 40 yards. Lamaar Thomas: Fresh off of making his commitment, Thomas had a good outing in a 45-0 win. For the game Thomas made four catches, one of them for a score, and was also a factor on the defensive side of the ball. Devoe Torrence: As expected Massillon absolutely blew out Cincinnati Western Hills, and in the process Torrence received only minimal work. He carried the ball five times for 75 yards in a 69-13 pasting. Ross Oltorik: The Ohio State basketball and football commitment had a huge game for Moeller going against St. Edward. Oltorik was 25-32 for 384 yards. Oltorik's strong effort helped the Crusaders hold off St. Ed's by the score of 31-28. Terrelle Pryor: As usual Pryor barely had to break a sweat. He was 4-5 throwing the football for 154 yards and two touchdowns. Also he carried the ball three times for 70 yards and one touchdown. Jeannette absolutely destroyed their opponent once again, this time by the score of 77-6. Isaiah Pead: Pead's assault on Central Ohio defenses continued again this past weekend. In a 64-6 win, Pead was absolutely electrifying. He carried the ball 14 times for 232 yards, and reached the endzone four times. Also he had a punt return for a score. Orhian Johnson: Johnson continued a solid season with a good performance on Friday. He threw for over 100 yards and a touchdown, and also made an impact with his feet running the football from the quarterback spot. Storm Klein: It was another big weekend for Klein. The new OSU commitment toted the rock 23 times for 194 yards, and four touchdowns. That effort helped Licking Valley win a big time showdown 32-0. Jordan Whiting: Klein's linebacker mate also had a big game. Whiting record 11 tackles and also he forced two fumbles. That along with a big time offensive output helped Louisville Trinity to a 55-3 win. Darrell Mason: Everyone knows going against the tough Cardinal Mooney defense is not easy, but now Mason knows that better than anyone. He only gained 31 yards on seven carries as Ursuline lost to Mooney 37-14. |
