February 12, 2007 The Buckeyes went out to the state of California in 2006 to sign Los Angeles Dorsey linebacker Mark Johnson. They are interested in another Dorsey star for their class of 2008.Safety Rahim Moore is one of the top defensive back prospects on the West Coast. The 6-foot-2 and 190-pound Moore was an all-city selection his sophomore year when he made 89 tackles and intercepted seven passes. Moore, a free safety, made 122 tackles and had another seven interceptions during his junior season. He was again an all-city selection and was also named to the underclassman all-state team. It should come as no surprise, Moore is being heavily recruited. "I have about seven (scholarship) offers," he said. "UCLA, Nebraska, Oregon, Washington State, Washington, USC and Arizona have offered." While the Bucks have not offered, they are interested. "I get some letters from them," Moore said. "I'm still waiting for more. They were at my school a couple weeks ago. I think it was their linebackers coach, but I missed him." Moore has heard all about Ohio State from Johnson. "I was a teammate of Johnson a couple years ago," Moore said. "We always talk about Ohio State. I would love to go to Ohio State. They're one of my top choices, Ohio State, UCLA, Michigan, USC, Oregon and Auburn." |
