Shazier is more than a tackler
INDIANAPOLIS - Ryan Shazier always has been an athletic freak and this week at the NFL Combine he was able to show the NFL brass that he has no shortage of athleticism as he tries to fulfill his dreams of making it to the next level.
The Plantation (Fla.) native put up 25 reps of 225-pounds on the bench press, jumped 10-foot-10 in the broad jump and had an off the chart 42-inch leap in the vertical jump. A tight hamstring kept Shazier from running in the 40-yard dash but is expected to run at Ohio State's Pro Day on March 7th in Columbus (Ohio).
Shazier knew the night before his on-field workouts that his hamstring was bothering him but knows when he gets a chance to run that he should be one of the fastest linebackers in the draft.
