Mississippi State travels between the hedges of Georgia's Sanford Stadium this morning in search of their first SEC win of the season.
At 11 a.m. CST the league's two Bulldogs will do battle on the gridiron for only the 23rd time in history.
MSU claimed last year's contest in Starkville 24-12. That victory snapped a nine-game UGA winning streak and was the first win for State in the series since 1974. Quarterback Chris Relf starred in that contest rushing for 109 yards on 20 carries and completing 9-of-14 passing for 148 yards and two touchdowns.
Georgia holds a 16-6 lead overall and a 9-2 mark in Athens. Mississippi State has only won once at Sanford Stadium back in 1956.
MSU enters this week 0-2 in conference play and a 2-2 record overall. State rallied back for a 26-20 overtime victory against Louisiana Tech last week. Relf tossed a 17-yard touchdown to LaDarius Perkins for the game-winning score ending a two-game losing skid.
