Michigan Mustangs Run Ends in Round 2 at Super 64
LAS VEGAS - After advancing to the round of 32 with a win on Friday, the Michigan Mustangs saw their summer come to an end with an 86-82 loss to a hungry Compton Magic Black basketball team at the Adidas Super 64 Tournament.
For Michigan State commitments Keith Appling, Alex Gauna, and Russell Byrd the loss marked the end to their final season of summer basketball.
The same holds true for the five other members of the Michigan Mustangs including Spartan recruiting target Jon Horford, whose big brother Al Horford was on the bench as an assistant coach for the team both he and former Spartan star Drew Neitzel led to a runner up finish at the same event in first half this decade.
Appling's final game was cut short by controversy. The Pershing star fouled out on a play where he was assessed personal foul , followed by a technical foul.
