Lee headed to Ft. Worth
When Clarence Lee steps foot on campus for TCU's junior day, he'll feel comfortable in his surroundings. Lee is expected to take in the junior day event with a few of his Jefferson teammates. Joining Lee on the trip will be defensive backs Devin Figures and Destin Mosley and offensive lineman, Trevor Murphy. PurpleMenace.Com caught up with Lee to get his thoughts on the recruiting process and on his impending trip to Ft. Worth.
"So far so good" said Lee. "I'm hearing from a few schools quite a bit right now so it's going pretty good. I'm going to TCU's junior day with a few other guys from my school so we'll know more after we visit."
With schools like TCU, Texas, Texas A&M and others in pursuit of the athletic defender, Lee is learning to take everything in stride. Constant phone calls are becoming the norm and the Jefferson high teammates know it comes with the territory.
"Texas is sending me a lot of stuff right now and so is A&M and TCU" he said. "I don't have any favorites but TCU and Texas are standing out to me. I'm really just looking for a school that has a good environment and a place where I'll get along with the coaches."
With a 6'4" 210 pound frame and 4.5 speed, Lee could make an impact at numerous positions at the collegiate level. Recruited by TCU as a defensive end, the versatile athlete could line up at receiver or even grow into a tight end if the staff felt he would be better utilized in that role. So does the tall Texan have a preference?
"I like defensive end but I'll play wherever the coaches need me" said Lee. "I just want to help whatever team I'm on to win."
With the first junior day event just around the corner, The Frogs are hoping that they can keep the momentum going on what looks to be a stellar 2010 class in the making. With the Jefferson, TX crew and the Dunbar, TX trio making the trip(Darius White, Rashod Favors and Dominique Sanders), there will be no shortage of talent on hand for the Frogs to attempt to impress. 15-20 of TCU's top targets are expected to be on hand as the Frogs open their campus up to
some of the top prospects from across the state of Texas. Stay tuned to PurpleMenace.Com to get the latest on who will be in attendance for each of the two TCU junior day events.
