Durham changes positions to spur Westlake defense
Austin Westlake junior linebacker David Durham and his teammates have seemingly turned things around after getting off to a slow start this season.
Westlake lost its first three games this season, but now is on the verge of making the playoffs after winning four of its last five games in district play. Its most recent victory was a 42-22 defeat of Austin Anderson.
While running back Ryan Swope has led the way on offense, Durham has adjusted to being a defensive end (he was moved from linebacker after the first two games) and has registered five sacks in his new role.
The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Durham is gaining significant interest from Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Texas, LSU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, California, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oregon, Penn State, Virginia, TCU, Baylor and SMU.
