Is Golden's commit soft?
Robert Golden's name is definitely one that recruiters on the west coast are well aware of. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound cornerback, from Edison High School (Fresno, Calif.), has 14 offers on the table - including eight Pac-10 schools. However, the leader at this point is clearly the University of Arizona, as Golden gave his verbal commitment to Wildcats' coach Mike Stoops on May 4th.
Having already announced his verbal, Golden, who currently runs a 4.5 second 40, plans to focus on improving his all-around skills and adding to his physical abilities this summer.
Playing for Arizona is on his mind, but Golden still has some prolific football schools tracking him. The entire Pac-10, aside from USC and Washington, has previously offered him. Minnesota, Michigan, San Diego State, Nevada, Fresno State, and San Jose State have also made their interest official.
