Miami North Miami Beach athlete Doug Wiggins announced he's planning to cut his list in the coming weeks. Virginia Tech is one of the schools the 5-foot-11, 180-pounder is considering.

"I like Virginia Tech a lot and they are a wonderful program," he said. "I really like that they play good defense and I could definitely see myself taking an official visit there.

"I've mostly been in touch with my recruiter, Charley Wiles and he seems like a great coach. He's a wonderful guy that has a great sense of humor and won't lie to you. I don't know how he reacts to his players, but with me he's been great."
