| James Hearns 6-foot-3, 230 pounds Linebacker Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln HS
Florida Soft Verbal
Early Enrollee? | There is still talk that Hearns will take an official visit to Ohio State but many believe that he will still honor his commitment to the Gators. In the department of odd timing, Hearns is listed as an early enrollee (there seems to be some doubt if that will happen) but the reported date of January 11th for an Ohio State visit would fall after the start of the semester. The Buckeyes missing out on Tommy Sanders does open up room for another LB if they so choose to go that direction but there are limited spots and multiple options. |
| Marcus Baugh 6-foot-4, 233 pounds Tight End Riverside (Calif.)
J.W. North HS

6-foot-1, 190 pounds
Safety
Rossville (Ga.)
Ridgeland HS
| Don't be looking for any all-star announcement from Bell after he came out and said that he is going to take his official visits. Ohio State will get the first crack the weekend of January 11th with Alabama and Tennessee scheduled to get visits the following weekends. There is reason to hold some guarded optimism in Bell now that the visit has been planned and Ohio State is getting the first crack but it is still going to be a hard fought battle up until National Signing Day to land the services of one of the top defensive backs in the nation. | | Cameron Hunt
6-foot-4, 267 pounds
Offensive Tackle
Corona (Calif.)
Centennial HS Cal Soft Verbal
| It appears the Buckeyes would like another offensive lineman in the class if it is the right one and Hunt could be that guy as evidenced by Urban Meyer taking a trip out to the west coast before the end of the contact period to check out on Hunt personally. Hunt has opened the door to other schools after the coaching change at Cal and the Buckeyes obviously need to get a visit out of the big lineman to even be considered 'in the race'. Expect the five Buckeye commits to be in Hunt's ear all week long trying to sell the merits of the Buckeyes. | | Trey Johnson
6-foot-1, 222 pounds Linebacker
Lawrenceville (Ga.)
Central Gwinnett HS
| Trey Johnson has finished his visits and will make his announcement at the game and all signs are looking good for the Buckeyes with this one-time Auburn commit. Auburn has tried to get back into the mix and Tennessee has been making calls (though the contact period which ended earlier this week) but most people felt that the Florida Gators would have been the biggest opponent to the Bucks in landing the linebacker. If Trey does pop for the Bucks, it will give Ohio State six recruiters down at the game working on several high profile targets. | | Dontre Wilson
5-foot-10, 174 pounds
Athlete
DeSoto (Texas)
DeSoto HS
Oregon Verbal
| This is the major wild-card on Ohio State's recruiting board. Wilson has not come out and said that he is looking around but as Chip Kelly's future at Oregon continues to remain a mystery we have learned that there is interest in the Buckeyes if things blow up in Eugene (and potentially even if there is not a change). Wilson is an explosive playmaker that can make magic happen with the ball in his hands. "Bloody Monday" in the NFL is only a couple of weeks away and if Kelly bolts, look for Wilson to be on the move. |
| JT Barrett
6-foot-1, 209 pounds
Quarterback
Wichita Falls (Texas)
Rider HS
Early Enrollee Injured - Will not play | | |
| Corn Elder
5-foot-11, 170 pounds
Athlete
Nashville (Tenn.)
Ensworth HS
| Will Elder be satisfied only playing football in college? The 4-star has stated on numerous occasions his desire to play basketball and that doesn't look to be a realistic situation at Ohio State, at least at this time. There is no denying that Elder is interested in the Buckeyes and Ohio State ha more than a passing interest in Elder but it just seems that there may be too many factors in play with basketball and few spots remaining that could derail this one from happening. |

| Shelton Gibson
6-foot-1, 175 pounds
Wide Receiver
Cleveland Hts. (Ohio)
Cleveland Heights HS
| All signs are still pointing toward Ohio State having a commanding lead in the race to land the Rivals100 receiver. Gibson has been hard at work getting his 'off the field resume' in order in advance of his visit weekend after the first of the year (January 11th). If everything checks out in order it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that the in-state star should end up suiting up in the Scarlet and Gray in 2013. | | James Quick
6-foot-1, 180 pounds
Wide Receiver
Louisville (Ky.)
Trinity HS
| With no offense to other schools, this is a two-team race between Ohio State and hometown Louisville. The Cardinals have maintained a lead and Quick has set in every recent interview that Louisville holds a 'slight' lead. Charlie Strong staying with the Cardinals helps their causes immensely but the Buckeyes won't go away. This one has all of the drama for an 'Urban Meyer Special' when Quick takes center stage at the game to make his announcement. This one could go either way but you have to like Ohio State holding better than a puncher's chance here. | | Tony Stevens
6-foot-3, 175 pounds
Wide Receiver
Orlando (Fla.)
Evans HS
| This is another one of the situation that have remained very fluid. Stevens is not currently listed as a Florida State commit any longer but the 'Noles still feel that they will land him in the end. Ohio State is still trying to get the big receiver on campus for a visit. If Ohio State lands both James Quick and Shelton Gibson, do they still try and get a third receiver 'down the stretch'? Does Stevens still have enough interest in Ohio State to take a visit? We will learn a lot when we are down in San Antonio and have a chance to talk more with Stevens. |
| Zeke Elliott
6-foot, 198 pounds
Running Back
St. Louis (Mo.)
John Burroughs School

| Mike Mitchell
6-foot-4, 216 pounds Linebacker
Plano (Texas)
Prestonwood Christian
| The Buckeyes are hoping to get some good news with Mitchell at the game with the linebacker set to announce his pick with Ohio State, Oklahoma and Texas A&M all in the mix. Mitchell recently had a great official visit to Ohio State and many people were expecting him to commit during or right after the trip. Mitchell has shown through the process that he doesn't stick to the 'recruiting playbook' when it comes to interviews or timetables. We currently feel that Ohio State is the overwhelming leader in this one and would be shocked if he doesn't put on an Ohio State hat in front of the national television audience. |
