Wisnieski talks official visit
As one of Iowa's in-state commits, tight end Jon Wisnieski has been on campus several times this year, but his official visit this past weekend gave him a chance to get even more comfortable with the program. We caught up with the 6-foot-5, 215-pound Wisnieski to talk about the trip, his future with the Hawkeyes, and much more.
Q: What was the overall experience like on the official visit this weekend?
WISNIESKI: It was great. I got in late Friday night because we had a basketball game, so I didn't get in until late and didn't get to go to the Iowa-Iowa State game. But we started right off Saturday morning with a really in-depth tour of the area and some of the facilities and some of the buildings and not just from a football perspective, but the university as a whole. There was a lot of stuff that I hadn't really seen before, so I thought it was cool to get to see that. It was really nice and it was nice seeing all of the other commits and putting some faces to names and getting to know them too.
As a senior, Wisnieski finished with 24 catches for 234 yards and 4 touchdowns in leading West Des Moines Dowling to a 9-3 record. In July, the three-star prospect committed to Iowa over scholarship offers from Nebraska, Iowa State, Purdue, Kansas State, Ole Miss, and Northern Illinois.
