Vols working Chicago area
With the spring evaluation period in full swing, Tennessee's coaches have been casting a wide net in the search to assemble the Class of 2012. As usual, the staff has pounded some familiar areas in the South, but one new locale has been getting some attention from the Vols in recent weeks. The Chicago area, annually home to loads of talent, has gotten a long look from Tennessee coaches in recent weeks.
Defensive tackle prospect Jaleel Johnson (6-foot-2, 272 pounds) is one of the prospects who has seen Tennessee swing through his school this week.
"I've been hearing from Tennessee for a little bit now, and coach (Lance) Thompson was by the school on Monday," Johnson said of his recruitment. "I don't know a lot about them right now, but I'd like to find out more, they're someone I'd be interested in looking at."
