DE Jackson not focused on recruiting
Though he has an impressive offer list and still has a lot of work to do in terms of narrowing his focus and deciding which schools he would like to visit three-star defensive end Branden Jackson hasn't been giving much though to the recruiting process of late.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound defensive end from McKeesport, Pennsylvania told Rivals.com this weekend that he has not had any contact with college coaches since the start of the contact period at the beginning of this month.
Though college coaches have been able to get up with Jackson since the start of September, Jackson hasn't made a concerted effort to talk to coaches.
Instead, he has been primarily focused on his own senior season at McKeesport. It has been that way for several weeks now.
"We're doing pretty good," Jackson said of his McKeesport team. "We've played two games and we're 1-1. I don't know my stats. I'm never satisfied [with his play individually] but I'll say I've been decent."
Jackson started as an outside linebacker in McKeesport's first game but moved to defensive end for their game on Friday. That first game was a 7-0 loss to Steubenville, a school in eastern Ohio, and their most recent game was a win over Altoona.
Has Jackson given any thought to which schools he would like to officially visit?
"No sir," he said. "I'm really undecided on all of that honestly. I haven't narrowed anything down yet."
Jackson is ranked the No. 41 defensive end in the nation by Rivals.com.
