DETROIT - Madison Heights (Mich.) Madison athlete Valdez Showers considering making his college commitment on Wednesday, but in the end the 6-0, 185-pound prospect decided to narrow his list of nearly 20 scholarship offers down to a final six schools.

Showers cited his comfort level at those six schools along with their academic offerings as the two aspects that set these teams apart from the rest of the group.
