It's been awhile since five-star offensive tackle Cyrus Kouandjio out of Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha made some visits to colleges. The 6-foot-7, 300-pounder plans to head out in the near future for a few visits to schools.
"I've just been working out at the gym, it's been kind of slow to get back out there," he said. "I am starting to think about visiting. I'm thinking about visiting Alabama in a couple weeks and probably a couple other places, UCLA and maybe Clemson."
One other visit the lineman claims is on the docket, a trip to Blacksburg.
"I plan to visit Virginia Tech, I'm doing that on July 9th and 10th," he stated. "I'm looking into Virginia Tech and I know they have a good architecture program. I know it'll be hard, but I'll get the work done. I know other schools don't have that program. Other than that, I don't know much at all about them."
Clearly visits are coming for the lineman and he gave his take on what he hopes to see.
"When I visit these schools the one thing I'm worried about is the area and the people," he said. "I'll also look at the atmosphere. Those are the most important things for me."
Kouandjio claims he's still waiting it out trying to see who he likes, but Alabama is clearly high on the list not only because of his brother, Arie.
"They've got my brother there, but I like Coach Pendry. He knows his stuff and he's been everywhere and done everything."
The No. 7 prospect in the country helped DeMatha to the championship game a year ago as they posted an 11-1 record.
