Madison Heights (Mich.) Madison athlete Valdez Showers has been honored for his accomplishments on the field with 16 total scholarship offers .Earlier this week, however, the 6-0, 180-pound Showers received recognition for his accomplishments off the field as well.

Showers was also named a representative for his class' student council. He received both honors in a ceremony at his school earlier this week.
